Schapelle Corby's unique career change

<p>Former convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby has turned her creative passion into a new career move.</p> <p>The 44-year-old began making beach-themed epoxy clocks in her spare time, after she taught herself the art in 2020.</p> <p>Each clock she makes takes five days to complete, is made on recycled wood and features her signature, as she sells her creations on Instagram.</p> <p><span>“I’m self taught and through a lot of trial and error I’m happy with where I am creatively with my clocks,” Corby told <a rel="noopener" href="https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/entertainment/sydney-confidential/drug-smuggler-schapelle-corbys-bizarre-career-change/news-story/91cdd64b005a180df8bff19806d6943e" target="_blank">Confidential</a>. </span></p> <p><span>“I’m mainly inspired to do beach theme art work. I do all the work by myself, sanding, drilling etc. All of the shells used are collected by myself mainly on the low tide of a full moon. It really occupies most of my thoughts,” she said. “I’m continually thinking of an epoxy problem, and finding solutions fills my dreams also.</p> <p>“I’ve dreamt of certain creations vividly, woke and got to work creating what came to me in a dream. Good news for Schapelle Corby as eagle-eyed fans spot a potential engagement ring

Schapelle Corby breaks silence in exclusive first interview about time in Bali prison

<p>Schapelle Corby has opened up about what life was really like for her nine years behind bars in Bali’s Kerobokan jail. </p> <p>In those nine difficult years in a cell, Corby fell in love and also claims she was abused by Bali nine member Renae Lawrence. </p> <p>While speaking with the<span> </span><a rel="noopener" href="https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/truecrimeaustralia/schapelle-corby-on-love-babies-and-being-the-bachelorette/news-story/8fe5a17e187aaaf1b3be6ed5d8c4c25b" target="_blank"><em>Sunday Telegraph,</em></a><em><span> </span></em>the 42-year-old made a series of explosive claims, including that Lawrence assaulted her both physically and mentally. </p> <p>Schapelle says she lived in fear of Lawrence who was a “bully” to her, with claims she choked her. </p> <p>“I’ve had comments from other people who saw us in the visit area together and were like, ‘How do you let her speak to you like that?’ but I wasn’t really seeing it,” Corby explained to the publication.</p> <p>She admitted she rubbed Lawrence the wrong way a few times so decidedly aimed to stay out of her way. </p> <p>Lawrence, through her lawyers, “vehemently” denied the claims made by Corby. </p> <p>Schapelle is likely to never completely be out of the eyes of the media or the public, and says finding a job is almost impossible. </p> <p>She says every time she leaves her home, she is hyper conscious of people taking her photo. </p> <p>The mental scars continue to haunt the Australian celeb, and also impacts how she travels. </p> <p>Despite being able to reenter Bali to visit her boyfriend of 13 years, Ben Panangian - it is not something she is willing to do as of yet. </p> <p>Corby will release a revised version of her 2006 autobiography, <em>My Story: Schapelle Corby</em> on October 29.</p>

International drug ring: Schapelle Corby’s relative caught up in biggest ever drug bust

<p>One of the people arrested in a $90 million drug bust is a relative of the convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby. </p> <p><a rel="noopener" href="https://www.couriermail.com.au/news/queensland/crime-and-justice/corbys-relative-on-drug-charge-in-queenslands-biggest-ecstasy-raid/news-story/db0e51e6916fccb1938f31f28c35a176" target="_blank"><em>The Courier Mail</em><span> </span></a>reported Viliami Kisina - related to Corby through her half-brother - was one of six arrested on Monday during raids across south-east Queensland and northern New South Wales. </p> <p>There is no suggestion that Corby had any involvement in the drug operation.</p> <p>The raid uncovered a record-breaking 766 kilograms of MDMA powder which will prevent up to 12 million ecstasy tablets from getting into the hands of Australians all over the country. </p> <p>While police are refusing to reveal where or when they seized the mass amount of illicit drugs, they have revealed the powder had the highest purity ever recorded in Queensland and have a potential street value of up to $90 million. </p> <p>The drug bust is the largest of its kind in Queensland and the largest ever in Australia. </p> <p>Two British men, aged 51 and 40, have been arrested in Queensland and are to be charged with drug possession and supply. </p> <p>The supply uncovered represents approximately seven per cent of the 1.1 tonnes of ecstasy consumed annually in Australia.</p> <p>Corby spent over nine years in Bali’s Kerobokan Prison after 4.2 kg of cannibas was found in her bag in 2004. </p> <p>She was released in 2014. </p>
